was approved for breeding in June
of 2001 with First Premie Stallion Status. He is now permanently approved
on the quality of his offspring as a breeding stallion for the FPS. His
semen count in Holland was a little too low to be considered to go through
with a little
Sunshine & the help of an Holistic Veterinarian named Dr.
Kim Hennemen, DVM. Many thanks to her for her help. Feike now Collects
at 85% & the tests at CSU showed 75% the next day!
Feike is now retired, but we have some very special frozen semen still available to select clients!
Feike is the 395th horse to be approved by the Royal Dutch Registry "Het
Friesch Paarden Stamboek" established in 1879. Queen Beatrix is the Royal
Patron of this first Pure Registry of the Friesian Horse. It is truly
an honor to have gone through all of the strict rules & finally have
a Stallion that can join the ranks of the honored approved Stallion list.
It is like a squire finally getting his Knight Hood after five years of
the first sight of Feike, I fell hopelessly in love with him. We were
there in theNetherlands staying with some friends for the annual Stallion
Keuring, when we were introduced to Feike. His presence was breathtaking.
He Stands at 16'3 & he had this thick forelock that surpassed his
nostrils by about two inches. His mane was volumptious & way down
passed his shoulders. He stood with his head high & seemed to know
he stood out in a crowd. He has plenty of energy & knows he is a Stallion
but he is also very gentle. It was a long three months before we would
see him again, but well worth the wait!
has been competing successfully in recognized Open USDF competitions
Regions 5 & 6. He is mostly 1st or 2nd in his classes with
scores averaging in the mid to high 60's & some Low 70's. He ranked
in the top 5% USDF in 2000 against 2784 other competitors in first level
& 125 in Musical Freestyle. He was Grand Champion for Region 6 in
Musical Freestyle, Horse of the Year RMDS, Grand Champion UDS, first
open & First Place Musical Freestyle with FHANA. Reserve Champion
for Region 6 second Level in 2001. We don't have the rest of the ranking
for the year 2001 yet. We are looking forward to a successful season
next year in third level.
"Feike received second place in Second Level in 2001 for the USDA
all breed awards under FHANA" He done very well in Second. We skipped
2002 due to his 3 & 1/2 month quarantine to Freeze Semen for Europe,
Australia & New
Zealand then he came home to a heavy breeding schedule. Feike will be
shown third level by Susan Wind Bouwman."
